| Heinrich Laumann takes over VEKAPLAST. The company, which is of regional importance, produces roller shutters and construction profiles.
| VEKAPLAST, now world leading manufacturer of PVC window profiles, begins producing VEKAPLAN S – Celuka foam sheets made of rigid PVC, at first mainly used in the building industry.
| VEKAPLAN K completes the product range for the building construction. VEKAPLAST acquires the Belgian company ISOBELEC, a sheet manufacturer in Battice which produces transparent sheets in flat and corrugated quality.
| A separate sales department for sheets is founded in Sendenhorst. VEKAPLAN S and K sheets are also offered to the advertising industry.
| The product range is supplemented with VEKAPLAN SF, a free-foam sheet in white.
| The inauguration of the new sheet production is celebrated with customers and suppliers.
| VEKAPLAST is transformed into a corporation under the name of VEKA GmbH. Six colours are added to the product range of freefoam sheets offering new possibilities in different fields of application such as advertising and display production.
| Adding several sales represantatives to the staff makes it possible to successfully launch VEKAPLAN onto the European market. Already existing certificates and flamability test certificates including class B1, Class One, M1, and Class Uno etc. ease this step.
| VEKA AG is the first company in its branch to receive DIN ISO 9001 certification thereby confirming their image as quality product supplier. For the training of the trade partners and their staff a new “System Technikum” is put into operation.
| Door panel products are successfully launched in the UK.
| The sheet products section becomes a stand-alone division.
| The existing sales activities of the foreign subsidiaries are centralised in Sendenhorst and taken over by the Sheet Products Division. The opening up of the Eastern European markets enables VEKA to start business in regions such as Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Baltic States, etc.
| VEKA adjusts the colours of the VEKAPLAN SF range giving it a new look.
| The new 2000 mm wide VEKAPLAN S sheet is launched - this is the first Celuka foam sheet in this dimension on the market.
| Customers can now choose between qualities B1 and B2 thanks to the new generation of freefoam sheets that have a B2 certificate.
| Also VEKAPLAN K is now available in the width of 2000 mm. Thus VEKA offers a unique product range with all products being available in a width of up to 2000 mm.
| The Celuka foam sheet receives a new look with the VEKAPLAN DECOR S range. VEKAPLAN DECOR S sheets can be applied for example for shop fittings, exhibition construction, interior finishing, cladding, panelling, in damp locations, sanitary facilities, etc.
| Direct Digital Printing captures the market: In order to meet the requirements of the fabricators, VEKA freefoam sheets are now being produced in a lighter shade of white. In addition to this important measure, a different stabilizer is now being used and a protective foil is applied to all freefoam sheets.
| The offcuts that accrue in the production and processing of foamsheets can be recycled and used again. As a result VEKAPLAN CX - a co-extruded foamsheet with a recycled inner core and a white face on both sides - has been developed and added to the VEKAPLAN sheet programme.
| The Sheet Products Division experiences a major strategic change: A decision is made to bundle and to expand capacities at different cites in middle and eastern Europe. In February 2008, a sheet production is set up in the existing plant VEKA Rus in Moscow. In March, the first VEKAPLAN freefoam sheets are produced. At the same time, the capacities for the production of compact sheets in Battice, Belgium, are expanded. With this restructuring an even more efficient scheduling of the production cycles has been made possible. Sendenhorst remains the main production site for foam sheets . |
