Sustainability
future-friendly - Corporate responsibility at VEKA
It has always been our philosophy to focus our decisions and actions not on short-term benefits, but on the long-term, steady success of the company - in other words, to be sustainably success-oriented and therefore fair to our grandchildren.
In order to live up to this philosophy, our understanding of sustainability applies to all levels of the value creation cycle. This includes research and development with the aim of eco-efficiency, transparent supply chains, energy and environmentally friendly production and an international leadership role in recycling.

ISCC PLUS - International Sustainability & Carbon Certification
VEKA ensures transparency in the sustainable materials cycle
As a manufacturer, we are committed to designing our value chains in a way that conserves resources as much as possible. Now, VEKA is taking another step in this direction: with successful certification under the ISCC PLUS standard, the company demonstrates that it can ensure full traceability of the materials used at its Sendenhorst site – especially with regard to the use of bio-attributed PVC.
This voluntary certification allows the sustainable origin of both biobased and circular raw materials to be verified across the production and supply chains of PVC profiles and sheets. All types of biomass, waste, raw materials, and non-biological renewable energy sources can be certified under ISCC PLUS.
What is ISCC PLUS?
ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) is a globally recognized certification system originally developed for the biofuel sector and later expanded to include circular materials across various industrial sectors. The system is designed to provide reliable traceability even when materials from different sources – both conventional and sustainable – are processed together.
VEKA has opted for certification via the mass balance approach. In simple terms, this ensures that the amount of bio-attributed PVC delivered to the Sendenhorst site corresponds exactly to the amount that leaves the site in the form of finished profiles and sheets supplied to VEKA partners.
